Default 1990 5.0 heat problem

Alright all a buddy of mine has a 1990 foxbody with a 5.0 in it. He approached me with a problem he has been having and I don't know what it could be so I'd figure I would ask here. The motor will not get hot until about 45 minutes of driving it. Anyone know what it could be? I'm leaning towards the thermostat, but i might be wrong.

Thanks in advanced

The thermostat would be my first guess as well. If it hasn't been changed in a while it could be stuck open not letting the motor warm up right.

No problem. That would be my first guess with a problem like that.
