you definitely, definitely need to set the TPS voltage correctly when you install a new TB and/or change the TPS!
You should have 0.98-0.99 volts with the key on, engine off and the throttle closed (no pedal). IIRC at WOT (still with engine off), the reading should be 5V. You should also make sure you have a steady sweep from 0.98 to 5v all through that range. To adjust it at closed throttle, loosen the screws and carefully twist the TPS back and forth while watching the voltmeter.
After you check that and set the tps, you should do a base idle reset.
Disconnect the IAC solenoid connector, and start the car. Adjust the idle set screw until the car idles without dying. Set it as low as possible. You'll probably have to start the car a few times to get this right. I usually open it up a bit so that it'll be running about 1200rpm, and then adjust down from there until it starts to die, then back off a little so that it keeps a (low) idle around 650-700rpm. After you have set the idle, kill the motor again, and with the key on engine off, check TPS voltage again. Reset to .98-.99v if necessary.
After that, disconnect the negative battery cable and reconnect the IAC solenoid. Leave it disconnected for about 5 minutes to clear the computer. Let it idle for a few minutes, then shut it off. Leave it off for 20+ seconds (this clears the remembered base TPS voltage from the computer), then restart it and confirm that it idles well.
Drive around under normal conditions for about 20-30 minutes to retrain the computer, then you should be all set.
Remember, if your TPS is out of range (0.6-1.1v is the tolerable range), then the computer will throw codes and won't be running right.
Good luck!
