Red face fox overheats but nothing wrong?

yesterday i drove down to edge water and my temp gauge was like 180.. which is perfect then i went up the hill to bergen blvd it shot up to 220.. had to shut it down multiple times the electic fan wasnt functioning at all. i took it to the shop and he said my fan was on and it was cooling? anyone know why a fan would do that?

220 isnt exactly dangerous territory, but definitley not where you want it for performance. What temp thermostat do you have? What kind of fan? What do you use to control when the fan comes on?

taurus fans are the bomb. i had one in my s 10.

Please please dont start throwing parts at it just yet though. Hopefully if i can ask you a few questions we can rule out a few things and maybe save you some cash.

Yeah dont just throw parts at it Richie if you even have like a pinhole leak in one of your dad hoses on a fox it will overheat. But I had a supercoupe fan and a 160 Thermo on my fox if that helps

thanks
Dan

im gonna guess either he got a hayden push in the radiator temp sensor (which would be the problem) OR air in the cooling system/bad thermostat.

well if its got a push in temp sensor and the coolant is a tad low that would certainly mess everything up
