Default im in a door jam.....

I am lookin for new or used doors in good condition for my 86 T-TOP. the ones I got now seem to be buckling and the notorius sag is begining. Driver side already needs to be lifted to be closed. My windows as well do not seal on the weatger stripping causing water to come in when it rains. This is something I REALLY want to fix but hopefully not for an arm and a leg. If anyone has any ideas in how to best manage this please let me. The wind noise is starting to drive me a little crazy and getting hit in the forhead with water while going down the parkway is not picnic either.

Sincearly,
New at restoring cars :*)

(P.S. remind me not to use my project car as a daily driver again)

go to a body shop and have them align your doors. you dont need new doors to fix this.

You can pick up the correct hinge pin kits at your local NAPA, Pep Boys, Advance Auto or AutoZone. They are produced by Dorman and are usually located in the "HELP!" sections/isles of those stores. Some of these kits usually come w/ 2 pins and 4 bushings in a single package, if so, you will need only (2) pin kits (1 kit will do each door's upper & lower hinge pin replacement). If the kits don't have (2) pins per package, then you will need (4) packages. The kits should run no more than $10 per kit (last I checked anyway).

You will need a grinder (or Dremel w/ cutting wheel/disc) to cut the old pins out and preferably a second set of hands to help hold the end of the door while removing the old and installing the new.

One other thing to check and I have seen this on really rough 79-93's - check to make sure that the A-pillar has NO rust through or rot near or around the actual hinges that are bolted to the A-pillar jam area. If your hinges are rusted or separating from this area, you definitely need a body shop to get those repaired properly. This is absolute worse case scenario for a sagging driver or passenger door on a Fox.
