hey bmurph, i don't have a spare frame, but i'm interested in more info on the hinge spot that breaks. i also have an 89 vert and need to replace the roof for the 2nd time (i have owned since '90). I have a place on the roof that tore, and the headliner was damaged because it was caught in the frame on the passenger side. i'm wondering if i need to be worried about something else ?

yeah, i've been covering it or putting it in the garage for the past few months when i know rain is coming. since today was nice, i tried to seal it so well see how long it lasts. hopefully, i'll be ordering a new top tomorrow. But i'm looking forward to nice weather, and then the top don't matter, cause it's down! Converts are fun, but a lot more work.
