Awesome... I would hate for you to have to spend money twice.. Just grab a piece of paper and write down your goals and work backwards on paper. When you are ready work from the back of the car to the front. Safety first!

That's exactly what my gameplan has been. Started with a fresh fuel filter, tune up, rear suspension, subs, torque boxes. I'm planning on driving this car pretty often. Any ideas or suggestions keep em comin cause I got some time. In the meantime I'm researching heads and intakes. I know this may sound backwards but I feel if I get something like track heat intake and some tfs 170 heads I can always have the heads opened up a bit if I ever go to a bigger motor. I could be wrong but I think 170s can be ported to 205

All comes down to if you want to go NA, turbo, or SC.. If you decide to go bigger as in more power then your heads wont matter unless your trying for some serious numbers. For the lack of heads or cam you can compensate with boost. Just make sure the heads are built well. You def have to decide on what you want your car to end up as. What HP range, What torque range, and what power adder or all motor. Makes a big big big difference.

350-425 at the wheel I'll be happy. It's going to be a street car with occasional trips to the strip. I'll be happy with mid to high 11s low 12s I think I'm being realistic.

all motor? turbo? SC? nitrous? I know I am sounding like a broken record. 12's would be possible. you just need a solid setup. I am shooting for a street legal 700hp car. I am going twin turbo. I just traded my TFS heads for a set of worked vic jr's. I am using a mild cam and the rest I am compensating with higher boost. Basically I am going to force feed my motor. I have 30lb injectors and a fpr that I am going to increase the pressure on. I plan on an in-tank and in-line pump.

out of those four options i can easily eliminate turbo as its probably the most complicated, and had a turbo car about 4 cars ago. couple all motor hondas that were quick. ive never had a supercharged car or a bottle on my baby...lol

problem with this car in my eyes is a very odd to me combo, the gt40 tubular is a nice intake but probably ideal between 0-5500 rpms right? my cam the f303 is ideal for boost with a power range of 2200-6200 and the gt40 heads no issue there but my compression ratio according to previous owner is 10.2-1 which if you go through some earlier posts the guys here are telling me its a bit high to be playing with a blower.

If anyone knows a way I can figure out my actual compression ratio aside of tearing down the engine that would be great!

s/c was my first choice but not knowing if my shortblock can handle being boosted is the reason for the confusion. nice thing when it comes to foxes is we have choices more so than a lot of other enthusiasts.

with that in mind was thinking get some heads to give me a reason to pull the old ones and maybe with a bigger combustion chamber could effectively drop the compression enough to boost this engine, but again im no pro by any means. and a better intake like a tfs track heat, systemax 2, or rpm 2 with a power curve 2000-6500 would be better suited to the cam i already have. now if i took these steps and upgrade my fuel system and it could drop my ratio enough to run 6-10lbs of boost great. other side of that coin if i end up too high comp to boost i wont use a blower till i can afford to build a more bullet proof bottom end. granted i could add a bottle if i come up short of my goals just redoing my top end.

im sure you see the reason for my confusion....
