Well check the oil again to make sure it's not milky. If it's good change your thermostat and if it still gets hot it may be your pump

if the pump has a few drips from a hole in the bottom then you need to replace the pump. now for the head gaskets, the oil doesnt need to be milky in the beginning, i know this from experience when it happened to my fox. but it was the head gaskets in my case

Yeah if it's leaking replace it. Yea your right flirt it doesnt have to be milky right away. But it would depend how fast coolant is dissapearing

Is there any leakage around the motor? Check the coolant and oil to see if its mixing.

Are you sure your fan was going on? if the head gasket let go, you would have idle issues when cold, white smoke from the tail pipe. If the waterpump is bad, it will most likely leak, or make some bearing noise. the thermostat could be stuck closed, therefore bringing up the temps. What condition is the radiator in? was the overflow tank full? empty?

I had this happen to my 85 camaro after i put a 350 in it and it turned out to be clogged heads, i had the same exact problems. No milky oil, changed the stat, water pump was mechanical and brand new also. put a new set of heads on it and it was golden.
