Default 2004 mustang gauge cluster problem

i have been having problems with my gauges recently. Seems like the speedo is extremely off. Any suggestions on what i should do? should i get a whole new gauge cluster? or is there any other way of going about this ?

Did you get new tires that are a different size? Or get new gears? Also what exactly is happening is it just off by a steady mph amount or is it waving back and forth?

Hold the mileage button down on the guage cluster and dont let go! Put the key in the ignition and start the car. This should put your guage cluster in diagnostic. Take your finger off the button and keep hitting the button for the guage sweep. If that doesn't do it your vehicle speed sensor may be taking a dump. I would try those areas first.
