Default 99GT needs a new engine. 2007 3V?

looking to replace my worn out 99GT 4.6 2V with 206K miles

I read on another forums about guys doing a swap to a 2007 3V engine looking for anyone with knowledge on this topic.

you are better off going for a 4v from your generation, less work involved and better power yield anyway.

now that is what you'd want. direct swap

no hassle with extra cost, unless your heart is set on upgrading

disagree. The 3v heads flow as good as the 4v heads and the 3v motors are more plentiful meaning they will cost less. I think is a nice swap..

I don't think they'll cost less. I was looking for a 3V motor a while back, just for shitzngiggles, and I was unable to find a decent motor, mileage-wise, for less than $3k.

On the other hand, I was able to grab a 32V 4.6L Continental motor with 22k miles on it for $200 off eBay for a project I was working on a couple years ago.

so many choices out there if you have the time, money and place to make it all happen. I am short on one of the three. Money. Budget is $3k I have a 2.5 car garage, being laid off from work means all the time in the world it seems.

I need this project to be daily driver, but fun to drive.

If you go with a 3 or 4 Valve, I would be interested in the 99 2V Timing cover that is on your old engine. Let me know how much you would want for it.
Thanks,
Wes

trust me. 3v's cost less. You happen to get a good deal on a 32v motor. The 32v are more uncommon thus command a higher number. Its that simple. They made tones of 3v's. Heres some on ebay for cheap
