the pan is going to help you cool the tranny by the addition of 2 quarts of fluid. it also has a finned design for additional cooling. I would try that first, and then later add the cooler. they are both very easy to do, and can be done by yourself with common hand tools and ramps, a few hours of time and most importantly, patience

You know, I think our cars have a cooler of some kind. My radiator had a minor leak and I noticed there was, what looked like a cooler infront of it. I could only see the bottom, since there wasn't much room. I'm probably wrong though.

Also, look into the J-Mod. It's a matter of taking the valvebody out of the trans and making a few holes in the separator plate bigger(only by fractions of an inch). It firms up the shifts so they don't hang like they normally do and actually helps prolong the life of the trans if done properly.

Lol yeah I'm the same exact way. It's not something I want to mess up on. But from seeing numerous pics, and even a vid of the install of a TransGo shift kit(basically the same thing just no drilling, you replace the separator plate i believe) it doesn't seem too hard...I just don't trust myself lol. Big Daddy Perf. said they don't install shift kits anymore, unfortunately.

Or we can do the mod on he same day, and do yours first so if we mess up, mine is fine lol.
