Lightbulb Big brake upgrade from different angles

Ok so I'm not a fan of non functional scoops and I also am not a fan of crashing. So I am devising a plan to get air from the rear side scoops to the rear brakes.

YES. I know, people will say "that won't work" or "it's pointless".

That may be so, but I like the idea and it really shouldn't be too hard.

Here's some pics of a built Kenny brown race car with a custom duct rig and big brake package.

Basically does anyone have an idea of what's behind that fake scoop? How to take it off? Or actually know how to do this? I'd like to go into it with at least an idea of what I'm getting into lol.

Let me know what you guys think! I'll probably be accompanying this with a bigger brake upgrade.

Should be pretty neat regardless

its taped on and there is sheet metal behind it. its more than possible but for the work work it will take your better off getting the conversion pieces needed from the quarter window to the breaks

But that defeats the whole purpose of making the fake scoops "functional" lol

I don't see any reason not to honestly. I cut it out right, finish and prime the edge, and put a gasket around it and stick on a tube/hose. Won't have to worry about rust after that.

Then lead the tube to the wheel well. I might not even stick it on the brakes, might just leave it as a port to the wheel well like in the 94-95's.

Plus when I eventually get to the track and do the pre-run burnout it would make smoke come out of the vent Lol

The fake scoops hearken back to the Mustang 1 concept. It was mid engine. The scoops were needed to bring in air to the engine.

I have never seen brake cooling for rear brakes. I have them on my car for the front.

That concept is hideous IMHO. I like the look of the scoops on the 4th gen, reminds me of a fighter jet. But the non functional aspect kills it for me

Wow thank god this thing stayed as a concept car lol but ur right u only need to cool the front brakes, those scoops were mainly used and still are used on mid engine cars.
