Question CEL is on

So my car was making a squealing noise from under the hood which was bothering the heck outta me. I took it to ford to find out what it was they told me the noiSe was from my Cam syncronizer and sensor. They were gonna charge me $600 plus to get it done ,SO i just bought the pieces from them and had installed at another shop , So after i picked up my car the check engine light came on i told the guy at the shop to check it out after using the tuner he said some code which i dont remember but he said it has to do with my ignition, So im guessing he didnt do somthing right when he intsalled it, bc i didnt have the CEL on when i took it to him. Now i dont wanna take it back to him i rather just take it to Ford. The noise did stop and the car runs fine , when i called ford to just ask about what could be wrong they told me they might have not updated the computer right after installing such an important piece.

IF ANYBODY CAN HELP ME OUT I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT THANKS

if the check engine light is still on, borrow a tuner or code reader and pull the P-code. That will give you a lot more insight as to what the problem is then you can go about fixing it the most cost effective route.

You can get a cheap code reader from Advance Auto for like $20-$40 and it allows you to read and clear the codes. It just gives you the code number and a little book with what the code means, but you can search it on Google and find a fix for sure.

Get the code read at an Autozone for free...

Tell us the code.

We will go from there.

How does the car run btw?
