Default Changing trans fluid during STS install?

Just got the notification that my MGW short throw is out for delivery. I've been told it's a good idea to use this opportunity to change the trans fluid while the top is open. Just wondering what you guys would recommend for this as far as procedure and fluid goes? I was thinking royal purple since I know they are a trusted brand.
Thanks

I've been researching this all morning so far. I can't seem to get a solid answer out of anyone lol. I think I'm going to call up SeaBreeze ford (i know the head mech there) and see what they say.

Some are saying they swear by royal purple and others are saying that it's not good for these transmissions and it messes up the syncros. Also a few have said that there are certain mixes of different fluid that will give the best protection/shift/longevity out of the change.

I now know the full process as far as actually changing it goes though and it's pretty easy.

So I guess if anyone knows what fluid to use let me know. I'll keep looking in the meantime.

I would just use standard fluid. Whatever ford recommends. I've heard some cases where Royal Purple ruined rears and trannys. It seems to be highly over rated.
If you want a high end oil try Amsoil.

Alright, yeah I still can't find any solid answers so Ii'll see what seabreeze says.

Also for those of you who have done a STS install, does this procedure match up to the 99-04's?

Sorry just saw i was called out for haha i need a bat light or something. Ok there is no right answer here but there are a few options. yes royal purple is cool but in recent events im not using any of their products because i think they may be flawed. i used to run GM synchromesh in my 3550 in my fox but when it comes down to it i reccomend like Frank said run what ford sells for the trans because its been going this long on it and most shops that no what they are doing will do the same.
