Front driver side brake locking up

My drivers side front caliper is either dragging or locking on me now... I was feeling a bit down on power and then some vibration. Then started smelling the unmistakable smell of brakes (burning). Any idea what could cause this? It seemed to not happen for a bit then start back up even when just cruising. It got bad enough that I had to run in 4th gear at 45mph to keep the motor going without being hard on the gas. When I got home the damn thing was smoking too. Pretty bummed about it, let me know what you guys think :/

oh man, sounds like the Caliper Freeze. I had one prematurely freeze on my 05 as well. Best bet is to take it apart and see if its working right.

Upgrade it!!

Brakes are something that regardless of the cost i want to have working 100% flawlessly

Should I replace with stock or upgrade to like cobra brakes or something? I'm kinda strapped for cash till after xmass but after that I can do it right. For now I guess I'll be driving the merc >.<

Side note...the smell of brakes is stuck in my nose and it's driving me insane lol

Piston might be seizing in the caliber or the caliber might be seizing of the the slides or the pads are getting hung up on the anti rattle clips couldn't tell you unless it was in front of me.
