Angry Mustang cant stop shaking...

Has anyone had this problem?
for the past 4 or five months i have been having what i thought was a suspension problem. the whole car shakes from 50-120 but at times at highway speeds it will smooth out but as soon as i downshift or even just take my foot off the gas it shakes even worse than when i accelerate i just recently had my motor rebuilt. the mechanic is a good friend of my dad so im thinking that it is not a motor mount or a trans mount because he made no mention of it when i paid him. i thought it was a tie rod because my pasanger wheel would turn/shake about and inch without moving my steering wheel fixed that... fixed the turning but not the problem. thought maybe it was wheel balancing so i took it to a shop got them balanced 2-3 weeks later had them rebalanced still shakes. the problem is getting worse as i drive and unfortunatly this car is my daily driver. i am looking into replaceing the shocks and struts and once i have everything out of the way i will be changing the springs im. but i would rather not replace the shocks ans struts if its not the source. im running out of time and money to keep putting into a shaky car. any help will be apreciated even if you can give me a list of things that it could be or even what it could not be it would help its a 2000 v6 btw

Default Shake

If the entire car is shaking and can be felt accelerating and coasting, usually its driveline related. I would go with driveshaft/U-joints. Shocks and struts won't cause a vibration, the car would be simply extra bouncy or if they are really bad it may cause a clunk while going over bumps. Since you already covered the wheel balancing, I'd check the U-joints on the driveshaft. If the car is a 5spd does the vibration change if you push the clutch in and coast? Also does it seem to get worse as rpm increases or more as vehicle speed increases? For example, if you do 55mph in 3rd gear vs 55 in 4th.

My car had a problem and was shaking pretty much how you are describing it, it turns out my exhaust was loose. Be sure to check that out too. I thought it was suspension pieces at first

i will check the u joints first being that they are the cheapest... but has anyone ever heard of having a bad egr system making the car shake this much? that is what a master tech told me at my buddys work but it doesnt feel like the front of the car is shaking as much as the back... and i dont beleive it is anything to do with steering because my steering wheel does not shake too much compared to the car.

plentipower it is an automatic and when i am accelerating semi quickly it is smooth no vibrations when i get off the gas it starts shaking bad if im going faster than 100 it is smooth... but with all the snow on the roads i am not trying to go that fast.

higu how bad was yours shaking with the exhaust? beecause mine is like violently shaking i have change that is in my change holder falling out and my mirror is getting loose...its really like having 2 subs in the trunks but no sounds.

Mine wasn't nearly that bad. Can you 'feel' the vibration when in the car? Mine felt like it was coming from the front, but it was actually closer to the back. It's probably not an exhaust but you never know
