Default shifters and exhaust

Hey everyone, I was just looking into short shifters and cat back exhaust systems and I wanted your opinions. For the exhaust I was looking at the Magnaflow Magnapacks and the SLP Loudmouth I exhaust, what are your opinions? I want something thats aggressive and loud. I was also thinking of getting an off-road x/h pipe but im not really sure what the emissions for NJ are like, so if anyone can help me with that I would really appreciate it. As for the short shifters, I really dont know much about the brands so i was hoping some of you could help me out... What would be a good short shifter? Thanks everyone

For what car????

I have the MGW short throw and love it. Install would have been easy if i didn't do a trans fluid change too.

We'll talk exhaust when I know what kind of car you have.

As for the cats. I have the bassani catted x-pipe and it's perfect. It has delete pipes so i can stick them in and it deletes the cats entirely but i can also take them out and pass emissions lol.

Personally I'm a pro 5.0 guy. I love the shifter never have had problems with missed shifts or anything. My opinion on exhaust I have a bassani x pipe no cats and flowmaster cat back. I have passed emissions bc I have no lights on my dash and it's mellow cruising till I get on it then it's Loud.

As to the shifter, I prefer the Pro 5.0. My 91 GT w/ this shifter lasted 12 years. The present shifter ( 5.0 ) was replaced in 2003 and is functioning as good as new. I am awaiting this company to make this shifter for my 2011 GT. I checked out the barton at american muscle show & I think I'll be patient for the real deal, 5.0.

Matticus91, I have a 2000 GT. Its basically stock except for a Magnaflow catback exhaust. Im not really sure how it sounds because the guy I bought it from somehow exploded 1 piston and shattered 2 connecting rods. But two of my friends do have a Magnaflow exhaust system, one has the magnapacks on a mach 1 and the other has a regular Magnaflow exhaust system with two mufflers, and I know i cant base the magnapacks sound off of the mach 1 because its a 4 valve and i only have a 2 valve but i have an idea of what the Magnaflow mufflers sound like on a 2 valve and i like it but I love loud and somewhat raspy exhaust tones. I watched a bunch of videos on youtube where people have the slp lm1 and the magnapacks and I cant decided. And you also said that you passed emissions without cats? did you go to a dmv or do you know someone who works at a gas station because i didnt think it was possible to pass emissions without cats on a car?

Ryan, i head the pypes exhaust wont bolt right up to the stock exhaust system from somewhere and i dont know if it is true or if its a bunch of bull... did you have any problems with yours? and how does it sound?

Well if you have the exhaust on the car already then just leave it on until you get a new motor or whatever. No need to go buy a new system when you might like what you have already. If you then decide you don't like it after all then just take it off and get a new one.

As for a loud and raspy tone the SLP's will definitely deliver that.

As I said I have cat delete tubes. So when I put the tubes through the cats it bypasses them. However when inspection time comes I just take the tubes out so it makes the cats active again.
