Default Shock/Strut Opinion for a Lowered 2000 Mustang GT

I'm looking to swap out the Shocks and Struts in my 2000 GT. The car has been lowered but still has the stock Shocks in it. I'm not to familiar with the Tokico HP brand, but I did see them on AM. I have used the KYB before just not on a Mustang. Anyone use any of these or any other brand for their lowered car? How do you like them and which ones did you go with? I'm leaning towards the Tokico because I can get all 4 for 200 bucks brand new.

I had the tokico HP's and recently changed them with bilsteins. Made a world of a difference. But the rear shocks alone were $200 so idk if you'd be willing to pay that much for the billys.

Go with the tokico HP's if you're not TOO low. They'll get the job done. Great damper for the price

Thanks, I'm gonna look into the bilstein shocks. Also on a scale of 1 - 10 how hard are these to swap out. I have done shocks and struts on Explorers an other trucks, just not on a car. And I noticed these front shocks look to have a different fitting than the ones I normaly have done.

The front struts are held on by 2 bolts at the spindle and one up top on the cc plate. The rears are just held on by one bolt up top at the shock tower and one down low at the control arm.

Install difficulty - 4

If i could do it, you could do it.

The rears will take all of 1 hour start to finish.

The fronts might take a little longer, but not much...

Ok sounds pretty simple, might take a little less time as I have access to a lift, Which always helps. Thanks for the info. I saw those bilsteins they were roughly 700 shipped to the door. Think I'm just gonna go with the Tokico HP for now.

i just put tokico d specs on my 08. not a bad setup. don't know how they would be on a 2000. a little more expensive than the HP's but they are adjustable.

I dont think I really need the adjustable set ups. Not running any real power besides stock for the most part.
