Default shorty antennas

hey guys/gals i was wondering if i get a shorty antenna will it mess-up my radio reception at all? curious because i wanted to get one and is there any specific place that i should get one over any other place?

i heard they do im not gonna lie, the reviews i read ppl did complain about it messing up there reception, but most ppl said they have sirius or just listen to their ipod or cds, so they just bought it for looks...

yeah i heard they're garbage. mine's even worse, the previous owner shaved the fender and put a shorty in the a-pillar. I get almost no reception. clean fenders look real nice though so i'll get over it.

I think you do lose a little bit of reception, but I don't think it's that bad. I just plug in my iPod anyway lol.

I have the 14" shorty and it works just as fine as the 218" stock antenna. no loss of reception.

And they suck in parades! Can't put an Irish flag on a shorty. Sunday was the first time I was happy to have he "fishing pole!"

not sure never use my radio so when i swapped out for a shorty it was ok but ran in to a problem when i put the car away for winter i took the shorty off to put the cover on it and ended up having to strip the inside of the antenna base to get the screw out making both the antenna base and shorty antenna useless but i already have my new antenna base to put on just waiting for the time to

My last car was a Lincoln LS. It had a built in antenna. I got better reception in the LS they I do it the Mustang. Go figure.
