Stalling/rev hang
Hey guys got a weird issue.
When driving in gear the car is fine. However when coasting in neutral the revs tend to hang between 1k RPM's and 1300 RPM's. They don't drop until I come to a stop. When I do stop sometimes the RPM's are fine and they drop to the normal idle range. But sometimes when I come to a stop and the rev's drop, they drop too low.
Yesterday it stalled for the first time. I came to a complete stop and the rpm's dropped until it stalled. The "battery" indicator came on and so did the check engine light. Both went away the second I started the car back up though.
Any thoughts as to what could be causing this?
If you guys saw my other thread on the IAC mod you'll know I was having a rev hang issue that turned out to be pretty common in the new edge's. There was a mod that someone posted and I did that and it worked great. But now I'm thinking this has something to do with it.

The IAC was the first thing I thought of as well. You might want to go with the stock gasket and see what happens. Other than that, my limited knowledge would say to check for a vacuum leak. I'm lost after that.

I'll try that winks, i was just hoping to keep the faster rev drops so i don't have to wait to shift lol.
Dan, I cleaned it and made a new gasket with a smaller hole. It worked great until now.

Haven't yet, though I did do seafoam with the last oil change. How would you recommend cleaning the MAF and TB? I know they make MAF cleaner but would the seafoam spray be better (or easier) for the TB?

Carb cleaner works very well for the throttle body, though I imagine the seafoam spray should work pretty well.

Sounds good guys. I'll give it a shot if I get out of work on time to hit the store.
