Default tire width

hey does anyone here know how wide of rear tires and rims i can throw on my lowered 99' GT it has Steeda lowering springs - i wanted to know if i would have the room for 17x10.5" rims in the back with it being lowered and all and whether it would cause rubbing going over bumps or not. and one more thing what would be a good set of tires to throw on my stang for all year round knowing its my daily driver???
thank so much guys for any type of input!

10.5" is max. That's what I have, just needs to be lowered lol.

17x9 in front
17x10 in the rear.
The stance with the wider tires looks so much better, what wheels are you looking at getting?

Also forgot...rear tire size would be 315/35/17. I just got the cheapest which are Sumitomo HRT Z from Tirerack.com (about $115/tire). Otherwise you're looking at the 200s and up.

How much is your car lowered? I have no issues with 17X10.5s on the back of my '03 GT, even with it lowered 1.25". 315/35-17s is the largest I would recommend to have no issues. You should be fine with that set up on your '99

I do run 325/45-17s M+H racemasters and have had no problems with rubbing. I still wouldn't recommend it though.

im pretty sure that the springs that are on there lowered it 1.25" (they were on the car when i bought it i didnt have the glory of lowering it my self) and i think i might either stick with the Bullitt Rims just in the anthicite finish or i might decide to go with a different rim but im not sure just quiet yet. oh and thanks so much guys for the input!!!

if you want good all year tires i would go with the proxy 4s, i reccomend them to anybody with a daily driver, with those tires i can actually drive in the snow and pull in and out of snow coverd parking spots, they really make a difference, you can also get those proxy 4s as an offset for a good price, i had to get my tires to match my 18 x9 in the front and my 18 x 10s in the rear.

I had lowering springs on my 98 with P245/45ZR17 & they rubbed when I hit bumps.

335s are the widest I have seen on 10.5s.. You may have to roll your fenders depending on clearance. Id go with Nitto NT555s all around unless you can afford some BFGs.
