'07' V6 performance upgrades..
Greetings Stangers! Ok, here's the deal, I sold an rc toy and it is income tax return time, so I've got $1100 that should go towards responsible things, but that ain't gonna happen:P I want to get some more grunt out of the 6 banger. What I'm thinking is the SCT tuner and cold air intake, as well as going true dual exhaust. I'd like any input from those of you who might have done such things. Would it be worth it, or is this just chrome plating a turd...in the end, you still have a turd...lol. The car is not a slug, but... well you know...
Here is the combo I'm thinking about http://www.evoperform.com/shop/index...roducts_id=186
What intrigues me about this set is the mention of the mapping of the auto trans... I know Ford was looking for ultimate mileage, but frankly I find the mapping annoying at times. Their claim of 25 rwhp boost I find questionable, but what do I know? Hence my posting

For more power the best thing you can do is the intake and tune combo. With an auto trans you will be more then happy with the difference. Evolution is good, Brenspeed is top notch along with Bama Chips, but Bama Chips is not open for business right now.
Dual exhaust is a good idea for looks and some more power. Most say H-pipe combo for best sound and X-pipe combo for best performance. Any popular axle back exhaust will sound good enough or if you wanna stay on the quiet side you can just use some GT takeoff mufflers. You will also need to cut the driver side of the rear bumper for the other tip to fit in.
I have a single MRT still with my supercharger and I love the sound...may put on some duals one day tho...
After that you may want to look into swapping in an 8.8 rear for the posi and added strength. or, you can just swap in a posi into your 7.5 with some better gears like I did, but now that I have the supercharger I wish I got an 8.8. Cost of modding the 7.5 is 700-800 bux cost of newish 8.8 800-900 bux. Well worth the 8.8....they didn't have many of them around back when I did my axle setup.
Any other questions feel free to ask away.

Intake and a tune are a must, you will love the new shift points in your auto transfer and no longer will it hesitate looking for a gear. It will shift firm and when you want it to. Then dual exhaust will sound and look good. True duals are the way to go imo. And there you go, your 1100 will be gone just like that

Thanks for the input! My car has the Pony Package, and I just searched the axle code, and it is 3:31... granted not the big gears, but still... It's got the bigger rims, better tires, bigger front sway, and a rear one too...woo hoo! As for the dual exhaust, I'm looking at the GT take offs... x pipe I believe... As for the rear bumper cutting, I think I have that covered. I got side swiped on Jan 5th, and she messed up my rear quarter and bumper. So I'm going to search the bone yards for a GT bumper that has the cut outs molded in and have that painted instead of repairing mine. Worse comes to worse, I'll bolt the GT bumper to the car when I take it to get fixed. The whole thing has to be painted due to the metalic paint... Tungsten Graphite Metallic as per the code...

Oops... got ahead of myself... will it feel like a different car, ie; more powerful? I really have no idea what "25rwhp" would mean... in one respect it sounds substantial, then again, only one tenth more than what it has.. well sorta... saw something that stock rwhp is 182 as per a dyno. So maybe 12-14% more... Wish I could plant my ass in a Stang that someone did what I want to do to determine if it's worth the $$

your car will feel like it gained 100 HP to you at first, especially if you load up a 93 Race tune. The throttle lag will be gone, thats the best part about getting a tune IMO. As for getting 25 RWHP, GT's get that, not the V6 guys. they will see gains of high teens very low 20's.

I was looking at getting one of the GT take off sets. Supposedly they come off cars with less than 5 miles on them. I quickly looked at the Pypes site, but didn't see anything but for 8 cylinders...
