Default 08 gt motor swap

Hey everyone, one of my friends has an 08 gt and was curious how much it would cost to do a motor swap. Say for something like a 347ci? I told him it would probably be very expensive but I'm not sure. Can you guys shed some light on this for me?

It would be expensive and counterproductive unless he was building a purpose built race car. If that was the case, he probably wouldn't be asking about how expensive it would be.

What's wrong with the 3V motor in his GT?

To swap a 347 pushrod in on top of the $7,000 engine your looking at: trans/bell housing, driveshaft, engine management, wiring either the PCM for the factory gauges or all aftermarket ones, convert the fuel system and possibly a k member or special drain pan for clearance. Slight chance the headers will bolt up but if not custom exhaust.
Your looking at close to $10k to make it work and that's doing the work yourself. Not worth it IMO.

It's pretty much impossible to make that kind of power NA. Certainly not if you want to keep it streetable.

Boost the 3v or trade in for a GT500.

He could a big bore 323 stroker high compression but for that hp you would probably be looking at race gas. Look at it this way for it will cost to do this sorta swap you could buy a new 5.0 crate motor twice over or trade tge car in on a new 5.0
