Default 2005-09 V6 Front Rotors vs Stock GT Front Rotors

Hey gang, I'm just wondering if any of my fellow 6'ers have upgraded the front rotors to the larger GT ones. They use the same caliper, and is just an inch bigger in diameter. I called New Take Off and they were honest with me and said they really didn't know if there was that much difference... I appreciated the honesty... I just can't see a half inch increase (the caliper only clamps one side of the disc after all) gaining that much mechanical advantage. I have 17" rims so they will fit btw...

Hey,

There really isn't much different that I have noticed, its not like I slam on my brakes to test the stopping distance lol. I had to upgrade them to make the KR500 wheels that Cruzin Concepts sold me to fit without rubbing(something that they didn't even know themselves). If you can get a good set cheap then go for it when its time to do brakes, otherwise not. I'm upgrading all four this spring if my side business of selling these interiors keeps going as planned.

Thanks for the input You confirmed my theory.... now if the GT had more pistons per caliper that would be a different story... I'll save the money and just get the epoxy color matched brake caliper paint kit... granted they are metal grey now, but at least they will match the body
