I took the chance i had yesterday and today to install my J&M Double Adjustable Upper Control Arm that i've had laying around since June! Install was anything but smooth, clearance really was a raging pita. If i had to do it again, i honestly may have removed the Catback as i may have whacked my hand into it a few thousand times ratcheting with a torque wrench 1 click at a time for a 4 inch long bolt.
Directions were great except for the last step but thanks to Chris and Shawn i was able to be given tips in the right direction and get the final bolt in. On paper it looks simple, its a bolt on the front and rear on the control arm, then remove 2 bolts on the control arm bracket and loosen a 3rd. Thats it, then reverse the process. If i had to do it again, i could probably do it in about 2 hours, maybe 2.5. But i'm not planning on doing it ever again, once was enough lol. So after the long paragraphs, here are some pics!
Nice flat level surface
Jacked way up there, under 2 5 ton jackstands, overkill? There is no such thing with jackstands
stock P.o.s
the stocker again
its as dirty as my hands were
Side by side, what a huge difference
That flag bolt was a big problem to get out then later to get back in
feels good to have accomplished it i'll say that! lol. I only have driven it 3 miles home from the airport but i immediatly felt a big difference from the rear, its much less bouncy and more solid. I goosed the throttle pretty well and got into boost on the way home and the tires planted very well. i couldn't really test since i'm on the stock 17's but i know it made a bigger difference then i can tell so far.
It was definitely worth the effort though, i was getting some wheel hop and it not planting the way i wanted even with the LCA's so the upper was the logical choice.
haha, yes this is what i spent 5 hours yesterday and about a 1/2 today working on babe, but now i'm all finished. Now i don't have any more mods laying around to install if i get bored
awesome man.....let me know how you like.....that's all I'm missing....have to do the hids next, leather after that and may more suspension stuff in the spring

Well i did tom's full set of all 4 HID's on saturday in a little over an hour. So just lemme know.
And after being under there i kinda wanna do my panhard bar cause that thing was rusted solid, looked really terrible Then again whacking it a few hundred times may not have helped it
Awesome! I knew you could do it. So do you feel a difference?
now that i got to drive it up to campus i can def tell a very nice increase. Now i want to make the front end firmer lol.
I really am enjoying the level of ride quality and how stable it feels. It used to "bounce" while going over speed bumps too, now it goes up and down then stays down
