Default 4.30 gears in a GT auto = ear to ear smile.

got them in the car this weekend. have not been able to drive the car because of the weather really until tonight.

I am in love. The car pulls so hard and just keeps pulling. Yes it is totally streetable. It really isnt much of a jump from 4.10's but in an auto it make the car pull like a 5 speed through 1,2 and 3. RPM's at 60 are at 2,000 to 2,200 around which is fine for me. The best part about it is that the pickup is so freakin smooth and my "butt dyno" says it will plant you in your seat if you ut you foot to the floor.

Cant wait to see my 60ft and 1/4 mile times.

I was a bit nervous jumping to such a steep gear but I am so glad I did.

Don't fear 4.30's in an auto guys. If you don't drive a huge amount at 75 mph (RPM at about 2600 which is still not too bad) you will love the low end pull that these gears have to offer.

Cheapest go fast mod out there. It feels like I got boost. Seriously.

Avg around town driving with gettin' on it here and there is 19MPG so far.

well i guess it depends on how fast you drive too. local driving around town i have seen a tiny increase so far. on the highway as long as you stay around 60-65 it really does not get to nasty. I havent gone over 75mph but at that speed I am turning higher RPM's and gas milage will probably drop 2 to 3 MPG. my buddy's car has 4.10's in it and is a stick and my car now has that low end that a manual gear box can only give. i wish i would have put these gears in sooner.

hahahaha! i should start charging for rides.

the 0-60 is well under 5 seconds. I get a little bit of tire slip on launch depending on the conditions of the road but I bet with a stickier tire I am around the 4.5 - 4.8 range every time. fun fun fun.

what were you averaging before these gears?

around town I was getting around 17. Highway I was around 23. I haven't had it on the Highway yet but so far I have seen a slight increase in milage (19 MPG) for around town driving probably because it is getting into the RPM range of where the engine is at its optimum for fuel range faster.

interesting, so better mpgs in traffic like conditions and worse at higher highway speeds......works to my benefit since I sit mostly in 20 to 40mph traffic almost every other day on the highways lol

Good idea charging for rides haha

yeah i am getting the car up around 2000 rpm and it really does not drop when cruising steady around town so my gas milage will likely go up when driving for long periods under 50. over 50 they will likely drop down a few MPG which is just the opposite of before with the 3.31 gears.

WOW I went from 3.73 to 3.55 cause I like to play around upstairs. I wanna be able to start at about 100 and see who can keep up. Thats great that you can knock down that kind of mileage. I average 16 Hwy with no traffic. thats damn good my friend.

Well I haven't had it on the highway yet so I guess we will see what those numbers bring. I really dont do too much highway driving so...

16 on the highway? Are you doing a 100MPH a lot? Most people see 20+ on the highway but it all depends on how you drive / how fast you drive. The 3.55 should be perfect for top end runs I would think.

I keep it around 80 or so. Its a stroker motor so I cant complain about the gas issue. Im not a big drag race guy, I like to cruise and blast away up top. Id love to take a ride in yours and see what those big gears feel like
