Default 5.0L Swap in to a 2009 V6

So I finally have enough money to purchase the 2011 5.0L GT Engine from Ford Racing!
I've been wanting to drop a 5.4L Supercharged engine but that's gonna run me 20K+ and, knowing me I'll never save up that much money just for an engine -_-

Anyway, this will be my first swap ever and I was just wondering what I would need to complete the swap? Like for instance: I heard that I might need a 8.8 rear axle but then I also heard that I only need it when I'm supercharging it.
I don't know lol.

Any help is appreciated!

And I'll document the entire swap right here!

pcm, yes get the rear you will need it laying down that kind of power, full exhaust (yes manifolds but i would do long tube headers personally).

i do believe ford sells a conversion kit for the 4.6 that will give you everything you need except the rear and the exhaust from the manifolds back..

A guy did it on S197 forum to his 05 GT so its doable for sure, just don't know if its practical. Then again, neither are 90% of the mods any of us do lol.

Can the suspension/brakes of a 09 v6 handle it?, might be better imho to trade in for a leftover 2011.

dont forget the coyote is lighter than the 4.6. just to be safe i would say the front springs and struts will have to be changed. i would upgrade the front and rear sway bars too and brakes eventually as well. best case is to find a donor GT and rob it of alll of its suspension brakes, spindles, rear end and if possible get the engine wiring harness just in case it is needed, and exhaust from the cats back to be safe. Some fabrication will be needed for the exhaust but all the other stuff will swap right over. it will be a big task to do but in a few months i am sure a few mags will be doing swaps and they will have all the parts needed mapped out for you.

good luck

also you will need accessories as well... ac, alt etc...

yeah it's a daunting task when you look at it - but I'm not doing it alone lol.
I do and always will have the option of backing out if it becomes too costly or too problematic.

:P

Its a good swap from the V6 because as a GT, i upgrade all of the parts anyway, might as well have started out with a less expensive car to start with. You're talking 380ish at the tires right out the crate, then add CAI and tune and maybe LT's and you'll be over 400RWHP which is well over double what you have now!
