Default Anyone good at electrical soldering?

OK so the gauges on my 05 are all messed up. There are 2 fixes, one being replace the cluster which is expensive. The other option is to replace the step motors on the cluster board. This is the cheaper of the options.

I can solder wires and terminals, but don't want to damage my cluster. If anyone has done this or willing to give me a hand LMK.

Here is a thread showing what is involved.
http://www.fordmuscleforums.com/must...placement.html

Also does anyone know if you can install the 6 gauge cluster in place of the 4 gauge. From what I've read the dealer has to download you old info and upload it to the new one to replace it. If I can get a 6 gauge I would like to swap them just don't know if its possible.

If you get it apart and have the new parts I could swap them out in twenty minutes to a half an hour... Just so you know, I've been doing electronic soldering for thirty years and have a $300 soldering iron... not some $5 Radio Shack special, not to mention solder suckers (look it up :-) ) military spec solder and proper flux. I'm in Warren county which should not be a bad ride for you, and I'm on vacation for the next two weeks, so needless to say I will be available and bored...lol!

PM me if you are interested or want to question my skills
