Default Axle Back Install Tips

I've read a few websites, pretty straight forward..But any tips/suggestions when installing an axleback? Any worries about alignment or how far the tips stick out? How much space between the bumper cutout and the tip? I know this maybe stupid questions, but again, my first Mustang and first axleback install without welding. Appreciate the info!

Put everything together but do not tighten it. Snugg the clamps just enough to hold and then align everything. After its all aligned and looks good then start to tighten from the front of the car back. (sometimes when you tighten the exhaust, it will move a little bit so keep your eye on everything)

What kind of exhaust did you get?

getting the stock ones out are a little bit of a PITA due to clearance issues. Straight pipes or round mufflers like my Stingers were easy to install since there is almost nothing to them

i have one piece of advice, wear some kind of glasses. I got so much dirt/rust in my eyes i was ready to throw a wrench the first time i changed out my mufflers. I know you might feel a little dorky but you will thank yourself for wearing them

I also just drove up backwards up my Rhino ramps, made for easy access.

Another problem that I heard a lot of people have is that the right exhaust tip hangs lower than the left...there are ways past this though if you read into various forums.

I put a set of FRPP 49 state legals on my GT, I found that you have to place the clamp over the alignment stud to hold them in place so they do not loosen up. Have another person to help hold the exhaust while you tighten the clamp.

on my Pypes Muffler Deletes i just heated up the hanger with a blow-torch, bent the sucker at a different angle, and it helped a lot.

I also have the 49 state legals, (FRPP Stingers) and they aligned almost 100% one the first try, i was very pleased. The pypes stunk....
