Default Check for Hood corrosion!

Ok, so I know this has been brought up many times but just want to remind everyone to check for the hood corrosion and don't wait until your warranty is up. Check the whole hood, its not only in the front lip. My hood is corroding up the whole right side lip also. I just took mine into the dealer yesterday at 35,518 miles and They are going to fix it for me. Not only fix it, but have it fixed by a very good body shop in my area...stay tuned...I'll let you know how it goes.

luckyyy... Mine's nearly through to the front but I've got 70k miles. Oh well, when it's through I'll just have an excuse to cut a big hole in my hood for a heat extractor vent haha

Do you know the weight difference between the factory aluminum and a typical fiberglass hood? I know for Chargers, some of the fiberglass hoods are actually heavier than the aluminum factory pieces

Same on the Mustang.. All the aftermarket hoods I've seen are heavier than the stock hood.

Mine is corroding, but I'm out of my bumper-bumper at 53k miles. I'm not really sure what to do to fix it. It's not bad yet, but it's only going to get worse.

I've heard if you talk to the right people and say of the right words they have covered it out of warranty in some cases.

I'm pretty friendly with the guys at Downs. I can give it a shot. I am 17k out of warranty though.....

I wouldn't be upset if they didn't fix it. If I saw an aftermarket hood I really liked, I'd just replace it. The only thing I really like is a GT500 conversion, but that's way to much $$$, especially with factory HIDs.
