Default Custom Fabbing a V6 Pony Package Grille into a GT Bumper

Disclaimer: I'm a big fan of my Pony Grille, more than the GT version. I just like the smaller fogs look on my mustang with the chrome coral around it.

I know it won't fit a GT bumper (any form of a gt bumper or aftermarket bumper, specifically the one I got) I do know a GT Grille will fit it.

V6 Bumpers are definitely setup with curves and tab placements that the grille just dances on gt bumper or any other aftermarket bumper.

So my options are:
  • A Black Billet Grille (or some other form of grille that can be cut) with custom holes made for the fogs with the pony and coral mounted on it as well.
  • Buying a Shelby Grill with the Small Fogs and making the pony and coral work with it (too pricey)
There has to be a fix to this, even if I have to find someone to custom do it for me, that would make my day.

Anyone up to the challenge. I need to figure out what to do with it in regards to the fogs and their placement...I want them on there one way or another. :P

If any of you need to see pictures of what I mean, I'd be happy to post them. Definitely want to get it on before the end of April, so post up with ideas.

Let me understand, you want to put your pony grill into a GT bumper, Right? Do you have the GT on yet? I'll take a look.
I'm a big fan of the pony grill too. Love the look.

Basically, sorry lol. Midnight ramble. I know the v6 grille won't fit because of the tabs and the way its shaped. So there has to be a way to work it into a gt bumper........just can't believe someone hasn't designed yet.

I have to get the bumper painted first but still debating it because that's the only grille I want on it and if I can't make it work then its pointless.

Well I got a V6 grille to work with my GT bumper for about a year and a half.

The big problems are:

The 6cyl Grill is smaller. If you run chrome trim around the outside edge (the kind with the double stick tape on the back it fills the gap nice.

The center lower tab on the v6 Grille. You will need to cut a slit in the GT bumper (It is a tab that holds the grille in and wont be seen from the outside) with a dremel.

Zip ties will hold it all in place. You will need to strap the grille from the sides around the lower portions of your headlight bucket braces. The only thing that will hide the zip ties are headlight extension covers.

I had mine this way for well over a year and it worked fine and did not move at all. This was also doing well over 100MPH on quite a few occasions.

I eventually got a great great deal on the Agent 47 grille and put that one in so I did remove the V6 Grille.

My bumper cover is still modified with the slit and you might be able to see it with the slit I cut into the bumper cover if you get underneath the car..... If you want to check it out next time LMK.

Think so? I'm just worried it may look funny especially since I wanted to stripe it. There has to be a gt grille out there that I can fab the holes for my fogs into them or something. idk...

yup but too $$$ plus mine isn't a shelby. All I would need would be that grille without anything else so I could fab my fogs to work if indeed they are the same size as the holes and then get the coral and pony on and I'll be happy
