Default Electric cut out help

I just had to do some maintenance on my car so I no longer can afford long tube headers, so I figured I'd look at a nice set of cut outs. Any suggestions or experiences to go with them from anyone?

This is the first time I'm hearing of them. Jegs lists a bunch of them, it's a neat idea.

They are pretty awesome. My friend had them on his GTO and would sit at a light and flip the switch, would scare the crap out of anyone around lol.

I guess the best advice is don't go cheap. Cheaper ones can fail/rust/leak. You can also get mechanical ones that are just as good and I think they cost less.

quick time performance, pypes, blowbyracing

I believe bbr has a kit that you just slip fit and bolt on. Probably the best way to go since we have arelationship wiht them.

QTP manufactures in midland park though!

sweet! yeah my friend also has a GTO and he has them, they are pretty awesome! i figured that since i can't afford the headers themselves, i might be able to at least make the noise haha

Well it all depends on where you put them. You're supposed to put them right before the cats and after the headers so you can run it as if it has open headers. Some people put them after the cat's though.

I want them before the cats if it's possible on my stock midpipe. I haven't gotten under there to look at it, but I definitely think im getting them just still shopping for brands

Thought about these as something useful @ the track. My tuner shop, JDM in Freehold, advised against it because it would affect the tune. There are sensors before and after the cats, your PCM makes air / fuel adjustments from these sensor readings !!
.
Can see them working well on older cars without PCM's........................it's your car, you could take a chance.
