Default Exhaust Rattle & Burn Smell on my 05

Now that I finally got the exhaust sound the way I love with the Krs, my exhaust seems to rattle somewhere under the middle of the car along with a burning smell that I can only smell when I come to a stop.

I was under the car last sunday after the rattling got pretty bad at the Chatterbox when I tried to show off my exhaust, Tom actually shaked it and sounded internal. From what I noticed on sunday, it seemed to come from the xpipe and/or cats area so I'm not sure whats up yet, and don't really have a lift to take it all apart lol.

Any one have any clue as to what is going on? I'm more curious about the burn smell since the kr mufflers weren't new.

ah okay I also have the exhaust tip hitting the metal bumper covers but that's an easy fix, I step on it and bend the tips just have to get to bending the hangers on it, still think its further back, didn't have this problem with the other mufflers.

anytime you get mufflers that run hotter than before you will get that smell, its from the paint under the car by the mufflers, gets hot and then cures to the higher temp,so if it goes away and then your romping around and the mufflers get hotter than ever before you will smell it again, as long as its not touching anything and theres no heavy smoke then thats what it is.The rattling if its coming from the cat area could be the heat sheild or something inside the cats, hard to tell with out looking myself.

I actually put Ford Racing KR Mufflers, I had previously done a ford racing xpipe cut into my y pipe right after the cats and haven't heard that rattling sound til now or smelt that type of burning smell. I've had other shady fall apart mufflers so I know these KRs are better quality.

i wouldnt wotty to much about the smell but keep an eye on it, i had it when i went from stock to flowmaster, and then again when i went from flowmaster to sss, and also when i went to the o/r h-pipe. The rattling could be a loose bolt, hitting the frame somewhere or like you said maybe the muffler fell apart, the flows i had were almost completly gone inside when i changed them, put it up on jack stands and bang around till you find it,i hate stuff like that, my exhaust is crooked and it aggrivates me like crazy, i cant bend it myself because its stainless steel. But you might have something inside there but you would think it might blow out the tail pipes.
