We sell and install alot of Bassani axleback systems for s197 cars. We usually stay with one of 4 manuf...Bassani, Borla/Ford Racing, Corsa, and Magnaflow. In any case, you must be careful on which ones you choose meaning if you are just going to do the axleback, or may consider doing longtubes and x-pipe as well. The long tube headers and x-pipe will change the sound of the car. Agreed you get what you pay for when it comes to performance. Kooks are our headers of choice. Just remember if its borderline of being "too loud" for you with just the new mufflers on, chances are its going to be unbearable for you with LTH and x-pipe. The Bassani and Borla Stingers are a happy medium on both LTH and stock manifold/shorty. They sound good without them, but sound even better with the headers, but you can still carry a conversation inside without screaming...lol.

If you don't want to get into extensive exhaust mods... we bought MAC Boomtubes and never looked back - they sound freakin awesome....

Now they're much louder that they're seated, I really should do a video... took a few months to settle in, I guess!!

Axle Back you will get less Cabin noise, all a axle back really is, Its just a muffler with tips, Cat-back is a muffler and piping that's goes from the cat to headers.

I like the Ford Racing FR500S mufflers. I think that they sound pretty good and more agressive then the others. In my opinion the SLP Loudmouth exhaust was a little bit raspy.
This one is probably the better of the two.

I have run the stock mufflers, FRPP GTA's, muffler deletes and FRPP Stingers. a chambered muffler, no muffler, and a round muffler.

If you want my honest opinion, the muffler deletes sounded the best by far, but the drone and vibration killed my ears and gave me headaches.

The GTA's kicked ass, they were great, just not quite loud enough for me personally.

My FRPP Stingers are great all around, slight drone but i just let off the gas or get on it to get through those RPM's. They also have "Ford Racing" on the tips which are the nicest tips out of the 3 aftermarket sets i've had.

However my stingers i did a straight up trade for because they are pricey, cheaper than Borla though i believe and basically the same thing

Stingers

deletes

both videos were shot via my cell phone so its terrible quality
