Question Help! Kicker 4.1 amp & speaker upgrade for Shaker 500

I got a great deal on a Kicker 4.1 amp and accompanying kicker 6x8 tweeters and 8" woofers.

Help please... Before I install the kicker system I need to eliminate an existing vibration in the door panel.

My stock shaker 500 vibrated the passenger door panel. At first I thought it was a bad speaker, but upon further investigation it was the door panel vibrating. The very annoying vibration is coming from behind the door handle pull. Applying preasure to the panel eliminated the vibration, almost...

Leaving our mark underneath the panel!

When I removed the door panel I could see nothing that would be the problem. Maybe the slip nuts (not sure what they are called! LOL) that secure the the 2 star 27 bolts for the panel. One is behind the pull handle.

Has anyone had an issue with this?

Any suggestions to reduce the possibility of vibration after I install the Kicker system?

Thanks...

Peter

Other misc pics...

Stock Shaker 500 8" woofer

Stock Shaker 500 Tweeter 6"x8"

I'll post pics of the other speakers soon as they arrive.

You could order dyno mat and put it behind the doors that would lessen vibrations

Thanks for the advice.

Having fun doing my first real mod. Does this count as a mod?

I know I'm having fun tearing, I mean taking, off the parts.

Have either of you done it?

Guessing so...

Seems like its going to be a mess getting off all that sticky crap that holds on the stock weather guard.

Also, where is a good place to find dynamat? I'd like to go pick it up. Speakers should be here today and I'd like to work on it.

Hmmmm... Seems like another project. I don't know.... Sure sounds like a fantastic idea. Some concerns are the indents in my S197 panel. Seems like it only accounts for flat doors. If you keep cutting hugh holes in the Dynamat how effective is it as the weather guard it is replacing?

May find some sound dampining foam or board and place strategicly...Thoughts on that one? Even some well placed electrical tape to hold that nut in place.

Gotta run... Back later.

I got my dynamat off amazon.com, it was very effective at killing some of my noise in the cabin. I need to get some more of it as it came in big sheets but i didn't get enough. Its one of those things on my list of stuff to do lol.

Just one word of advice, be careful of the edges pete, they are sharp to the touch especially when you trim them, so wearing gloves i'd recommend.

Thanks...

Not sure I want to do the dynamat. More work than I want to do. At this time... Maybe some other day.

The actual plastic trim piece behind the handle pull and where you pull the door close vibrate pretty bad as well...I recommend adding velcro to the back side of it to stop it from making noise.....I had to do that when I ugprade my radio and everything started vibrating in the doors. (if your mirrors vibrate, you'll have to pop off the glass and tighten the screws behind it too) I had to do that.
