im looking to get my 09 gt into the low 11s and i dont really wanna go to much faster then that at this point i am doing the sct tuner borla exhuast a cold air intake not sure which one yet and 373's on top of that were should i go from here and eventually i would love to throw a whipple under the hood but not just yet
i think the sound of a loping cam on a V8 and the term "rice" are about as far apart as can be.. take a look at youtube for some videos of the FRPP hotrod cams.. that sound will boil your blood to any true v8er.. at least the video of the one i heard a while back. definitely a misuse of the term "rice".. i think a better term would just be "poor value" or "bad hp on the dollar".
But I agree, with basic mods, a cam isn't going to be worth the price and time required.. but if you're going to go with a blower, or do porting work, cams are definitely worth while.
heres the video i remember finding. Like I said, that sound has nothing to do with the typical use of the term "Rice" lol

well theres nothing i can say that i havent already said. Parting words -
1.. Just cuz you own a mustang doesnt mean you're exempt from being a ricer.
2. We're all ricers sometimes, get over it, lol. Ive got vortex generators waiting to go on my car! If they give me any downforce yay but theres no denying i bought them cuz i think they look cool.

vortex generators are used on the leading edge of the wing of aircraft to allow for a slower stall speed of the aircraft. however they sacrifice some of their speed, approx 3 knots. the principles on a car however might be different.
In order to go faster winglets are installed to reduce the drag of the aircraft and hence make the engine work not as hard to push the plane as fast. So equal throttle will yield a higher cruise speed.
Aerodynamics i believe are key in reducing your drag which will in turn increase your speed. Then again i am talking airplanes not cars so yea....
CAMS ARE NOT RICE. Besides having a sound they can/do increase power, maybe not a bang for the buck mod (which this thread wasn't about). Either way, if you gain from the modification (performance wise, even if its 1 hp)..it's not rice.

Would you be so kind as to define "basic bolt-on's"? I've come to notice the definition of relatively stock and basic bolt-on's can vary from one person to the next... case and point ezrats and his supercharged bullit which he describes as basically stock lol
ps, if anyone has a six, this is the guy i'm going to for my head/valve work and cams...he's based outta georgia and work takes 2-3 weeks...just a heads up. i spoke will a guy named bill, knew everything about the product, gave me suggestions on what route was best and his best opinion (didn't try to sell me something i didn't need)...
