Have you guys looked into doing your own tuning?

I started using tuning software after a friend showed me how easy it really is. If you have the least bit of common sense you can take control of your own car and stop relying on the post office for updates.

My experience is all with GM stuff, but most of the time the software costs about the same or only slightly more than getting a 1 time canned tune from the popular suppliers.

generally speaking no the S197 community doesn't do its own tuning. With these cars comes a lot more variables then previous models so most leave it up to the professionals.

I spoke with tillman first but they wanted to much for their CAI, I went with Brenspeed. Getting it dynoed soon by BDP or Tillman though.

idk if u pulled the trigger yet but brenspeed is a personal favorite of mine. I've personally talked to Brent (owner/founder) and he really knows his stuff. i used it in my stang, my buddy uses it in his and were gonna drive out to Indiana when he gets back from Afghanistan to have them put on a supercharger some other things and have Brent dyno tune it. i don't recommend stuff i haven't personally used and thought it was the best out there.
