Default Ready to pull the trigger! CAI/Tuner

All right gang! I got my refund and am ready to get a CAI and tuner! Looking for opinions on which is the best for a V6 automatic. Power, shift characteristics, etc etc.
At the moment my car is in the shop getting fixed from a side swipe I endured back in Jan. The good news is it will now have a GT bumper for the soon to be dual exhaust system. That is a whole other issue...lol. One step at a time!

I've gotten some pm's on this in the past and have been told we have discounts at some places. How do you get them?

Any info is appreciated! Stay off the roads tommorow stangers!

Brian

Alright, for me I ghave Bama's Tunes and I know he's being going through some personal issues now and heavily backed up....others say Brenspeed and Tilmans are good as well. American Muscle also sells them. C&L with SCT Tuner is the way to go!

Let me know where you want to buy it and when I will see if we can get you a discount.

I highly recommend doing the dual exhaust setup before then so you can throw it into the tuning and get all the advantage of it when you get the custom tunes.

Depending on what you like to run, I prefer 93 Torque as well as 93 Performance and 93 Race, you can get an 87 Tune in any of the above if that's what you drive with.

P.S. Your 8 posts away from seeing the discount section

8 posts away huh? LMAO!! Does the dual exhaust really make that much difference to the tunes? From what I've read here, no matter what mufflers you use on a dual setup, you only gain 1 or 2 hp... then again, these are cpu controlled cars, so what do I know? I'm from the "adjust points and jets in the carb era" LOL! I know damn well my car will never be an "8", but these 6ers have more hp than the v8s I grew up with... well at least the small blocks... :-)

Yeah lol it's preset.

I think it depends on whether you put an x or h pipe seeing as though our V6s don't come with it, it should be somewhat of noticeable gain. I know I did my dual exhaust before my tune and my car felt like it picked up quicker...but that just may be me. Hopefully others with chime in.

go with Tillmanspeed. their 93 race tune is to die for and if you really want to go all out, the 93 All Out tune will knock your socks off!

I might be interested in the mufflers. I have to find a system that does not include them. Most seem to have either stock gt ones or their own brand. I'm leaning towards the stock ones due to the fact that they are rather quiet. I drive to far for work to have some droning exhaust system under my butt 2 hours a day:P

I drive 2 hours a day as well. I have the Roush exhaust. It drones at 50MPH. I almost never drive at 50. 65+ it is perfect. Under 50 is good too. But just between 50-60 it drones. But during acceleration it sounds awesome!

I have a GT takeoff "X" installed with two GT takeoff mufflers on my V6. Quiet on long drives, and if you want to hear them, you just lean on the pedal a bit more than usual. (Merging on the highway became fun again) I do have the 1500 RPM drone though which I read can be remedied by removing the factory mounts for the mid-pipes (Only there for assembly reasons; not required).

I spoke to Tillman Speed last night, very informative and close enough to go there for some "fine tuning"... I think that is the set up I will go with :-)
