Default Rebuilding Tiffany (2009 V6)

Hey guys!

As you may or may not know, my car (Tiffany) was hit by this kid driving a Silverado. He ran a stop sign and drove right into my driver side fender, destroying the tie rod, grille, bumper, headlight case, and, of course, the fender.

I called my insurance company and they just wouldn't cover it. At all. I've tried calling again, and again and still the same answer.
After a while, I gave up and just decided that I had to do everything myself (which I have no problem) and make this build thread!

The first thing I bought was the tie rod (this was 2 days after the accident). As this is my DD, I needed that to be fixed so I ran over to my local NAPA store and ordered one. Bought it for $80 and my dad and his friend installed it in my driveway.

After that, I managed to pull together a total of $1,400 and I've made a list of all the parts I needed.

The first thing I ordered were a pair of smoked headlights and turning signals from StreeTune on eBay and some 8000K HIDs from DDMTuning

I was just about to get the smoked headlights from AM for $140 but I found those on eBay that saved me $20 and got me an extra pair of bumper lights!
The HIDs were recommended to me by a friend and I liked how they looked!

Here's the list of parts that I'll be getting.
- GT/CS Front Fascia
- Black Retro Billet Grille (Purchased)
- Driver side fender

I'll be posting pictures up of the removal, installation, and before and after!

Thanks!

-------------------
Two days ago arrived my headlights and smoked parking lights. Needless to say I was very excited! My girlfriend and I opened the box to inspect the lights and they were in presine condition! They were wrapped up in bubble warp and they covered the lenses with this plastic stuff that protected it!

Yesterday, my HIDs came in! I was excited until I realized that they forgot the cable that connects the driver and passenger side. I was kinda pissed but DDMTuning took care of it and that should arrive here soon.

Regardless, I wasted no time and called my dad over. We took off the front fascia to see the damage and to see if we can replace the headlights with the new smoked ones I got.

The only real PITA was getting the splash shields to come off - but we worked on it and got it off and tried a light!

They fit 100% perfect. OEM quality! The parking lights too!
On the damaged side, we had to move the fender and see if we can fix some of the twisted metal to see if we can fit the headlight in. Didn't really work, but it's in.

The light will be coming off in a couple of days anyway when I get the bumper, grille, and fender! I just wanted to see how it would fit!

Completed:

The broken side:

^ I'm not driving it until I get all of my parts installed. I don't want to risk having that light pop out!
---------------
I ordered the black retro billet grille last night, so I'm waiting for that to come in. Then the fender and bumper!

Thanks for reading!

Yay! Thanks for posting this, Nigel. My husband and I have been wondering how you've been doing with this.

We're still not sure why insurance will not cover it - it's an extensive repair.

But at least this way you can get whatever parts you want to mod Tiffany's appearance. Those smoked lights are nice! Best of luck as you continue with this.

It's like 2 Face from Batman. The smoked headlights look very good, it sucks that you're paying for it out of pocket though. As was asked before, why didn't the other guy's insurance cover it?

That's great, call my friend Rick at Downs, he can get you a really good deal on a GT/CS bumper! Do not pay retail for it! Same goes with the fender, we get really good discounts on FRRP stuff!

And if you need any help with paint, I have a contact for that too who won't charge you much since he owes me.

Thanks guys!
As much as the insurance, I know very little. From what my dad tells me, the deductible is too low which is crazy considering the damage. I tried calling myself a couple of times but usually they just put me on hold for what seems like roughly 10,000 years.

Meh, I don't mind paying out of my own pockets for this stuff. I kind of enjoy it, actually lol! I mean, if the damage was a lot more considerable, then yeah - I'd follow through. But it's all good

Thank god you replied! I was this close to plopping down over 400 for the bumper and fender! xD
PM me his number and I'll give him a call on Tuesday after classes (I don't wanna bother anyone on Labor Day!).

same for the paint if it's no hassle! I'm trying to save as much money as I can because I need to get new DJ equipment after the aftermath of Irene

Thanks a whole bunch!!
