Default S197 Strange Front Drag Brake kit

Placed the order on the Strange Front Drag Brake Kit from Tommy over at JPC in MD. Very good people to deal with!!! Always purchasing from them! Well i decided to install it yesterday. Also with my old man decided to give me a hand on the install too.

This isnt just a bolt on kit and go, you do need to do some cutting and drilling/tapping of new holes... Nothing serious though. Heres some photos of the kit, weighs only 26lbs!!!!! Also threw a SLP line lock on.

New stainless lines and fittings

SLP Line Lock, very easy install!!

looks really great! i heard that line lock really is essentially plug and play. Let me know how the drag brakes feel in comparison to your old brakes

The line lock is so simple, hardest part for a begginer at a instal would be bleeding the brakes... Ive done other line locks on Lightnings includng my brothers and had to bend the lines and all my own piping basicaly, this one everything fits 110% perfect!

The drag brakes are nice! there not recomended for daily driving/street use b/c the rotors as u can see are very thin. So when driving on the street be careful to not brake as hard as you normaly would. It saved me about 40-50lbs from the OEM Brakes on the front end. Im trying to get into the 11s this Friday so the car needs a diet.

yea, i've never bled brakes before so i'd have to figure out how to do that lol.

40-50lbs is a good amount! the rotors look super light since they are so thin. What else are you doing to shed weight? i know the OEm front seats weigh a freeking ton! I heard up to 100lbs a piece with all the power and stuff in them

Bleeding brakes isnt to hard, But you will need 2 people and i see you got some help from blacked out 09 waiting for ya!

I dont have the stock seats, im using Corbeau Fx1s in Suede with a 5-point harness. Heres what they look like. Seats weigh 16lbs and the rails are 9lbs.
