shaker 500 problem?!

ive had the car for almost 4 years now and no problems at all until now.. for some reason when im driving the left sub seems to cut out and stop working.. the only way for me to get it back on is to do the self test hold preset 3 and preset 6 and the self test starts i press preset 1 and then turn off the stereo and back on bam it works.. but 15 minutes later the same thing happens.. i'm baffled as to what could be the issue.. ive checked the wiring dont know what to do next.. sorry for the long story but just want to get the details in there..

I hate my Shaker! By definition ... they are a problem! Every Ford/Lincoln/Mercury I have ever had has caused me problems .. including my current Mustang and 08 Mountaineer.... Good luck finding the problem.

thats why i always pull stock head units out within days of buying the car. i have a touch screen double din alpine in the stang and the focus

I have had problems with my shaker 500 system as well, I would just replace it with something...I mean for me, my dad and I installed a sirius unit and it's plugged directly into my shaker, so I don't listen to anything but that. But once it goes, I'll replace it with something.
