I am a bigger believer in turbocharging than supercharging. Boost comes on at lower RPM's and without the belt turning you are not losing any of your new found power in the effort.

I am getting a Stage Zero Edelbrock E-force supercharger system. GT500 fuel pumps, 41lb injectors, 3.8 pulley which generates between 5-7.5lbs of boost, Intercooler, new TB, new MAF, CAI ect. Its a very complete kit. I am getting it from Tillmanspeed and having them install it.

With the 3.8 pulley which is the biggest one they offer (therefore lowest power) i am going to crack 400 at the tires. If i desire i can step up to Stage 1 which makes 460ish at the tires with the 3.5 pulley. And if i go nuts with forged everything and what-have-you the pulleys go as small as 2.75 and 13+ lbs of boost. 600 at the tires is maxed out for this blower. Other can go higher levels but i have no desire to do that. 400 at the tires is well within the "safe" range of the stock parts.

I find very little info of turbocharging these cars, and with little info comes little support. So unless you educate yourself on it, i'd stick with a blower.

just my $.02.

I'll have a better answer in a couple of months. The Roush is supercharged & puts 524 to the rear wheels. My 98 GT has twin turbos & put 460 (keeping it low until the rebuild is required) to the rear wheels. I'm supposed to be going to a track rental the end of March & want to bring both cars. Then I'll know which is better.

I think the 98 will win since it's auto with a turbo torque converter. It can come off the line with 5 6 lbs of boost to start.

if i was going to build a car up 'd definitly take a Kenne Bell. That power, upgradability, whine, there's nothing quite like it

There is a reason the Super snakes run Kenne Bell blowers

Guys I think hes got a V6? If I'm right your choices are X-Charger like mine, Vortech, Procharger, or something like a Powerhouse turbo kit. I'm not knocking this forum, but its a local forum really...There is a ton of info on mustangcollective.com about all types of FI for the V6. That site was really made for the 05+ V6...

But to tell ya some of what I know...

It is the second most expensive option, but the X-charger is great for the street and has sick low end power but lacks up top because it has no intercooler and is a roots blower. I'm very happy with mine and can walk 05+ GTs with bolt-on mods. This kit is also great because it is friendly with the stock manual trans and 7.5 axle making it the right choice for me. It also has a killer whine when at WOT ; ) These kits can make anywhere from 280-300whp depending on the dyno used and run mid to low 13s or better. The kit new can be found at explorerexpress.com (an intercooler system will be coming out soon)

Vortech and Procharger kits for the V6 are better up top for power and ET track times. They have an intercooler option and are able to make more boost as a result. They are probably your cheapest option right now also. I think they make around 300-350whp when intercooled and run in the 12s for ET. With that extra power the 7.5 axle is being pushed to the limit and will probably let go if raced or driven real hard a lot. An 8.8 upgrade is recommended...Also I have heard about people destroying 3rd gear in the T5 trans after time with that level of power, but if your car is an auto you have nothing to worry about...These kits are all over the internet lol

A turbo is probably going to cost you the most. They make the most power (I've seen numbers anywhere from 380-450 on the stock long block.) The best I've seen the Powerhouse kit run was a 10.9 or something like that, but most are in the mid to high 11s. The 7.5 and the T5 should not be used at all here...The auto trans and 8.8 will be ok for a conservative tune/boost level. Check the other forum or Google for where to get these kits.

Remember, when adding near 100+ more hp to your V6, it is a good idea to have some supporting mods on the car first before you add a turbo or supercharger. A good list of stuff to have is what I have on my car...check my sig for info.

If you have any questions feel free to PM also.

Throw on a procharger and have a blast!
you'll be happy with any type of FI.
