Default Tint - What to make sure of?

I'm going to get my car tinted next Friday...35% all around, including the front windows.

What are things I should make myself aware of? I've heard someone mention somewhere, that the installer should put some sort of felt on the seals near the bottom of the front windows, but I can't remember exactly what that was.

Thanks!
JR

Be aware that you can't pass NJ Inspection with tint on the fronts. I used to have a buddy with a audio/tint shop so he always gave me a inspection sticker. I have heard that there are no more Private Inspection sites to pay for an inspection sticker, but IDK if that is true.

There is alot less to the inspection now, its just emissions here in jersey as far as i know. They just changed it.

As far as legalities goes there is a limit as far as what windows and what percentages you can do. I think you can do up to 70% on the front side windows, anything on rear windows, and anything above the tint line on the front windshield (small horizontal lines near the top on the left and right side).

I think the most you can go is 35% if the cops can't see in you are screwed as far as I know don't have tints and don't want them lol but that's me cause the cops can still ticket you if they so choose

According to TintCenter.com, the windshield and front side windows cannot legally be tinted in NJ. The rear side windows and rear window can be tinted any darkness...

You can get away with some on the front side ones as long as you can see in ok. As for the windshield I know that anything above the tint line is fair game.

My dad registered his new truck in florida and got tint all around and a big stripe on the front window. looks so bad ass im so jealous lol.

The Felt thing is one thing also keep in mind the tint on the front windows makes it hard to see at night especially when parking I have 20% and sometimes have to tlok down the windows to park. Also make sure you go to a reputable shop to do it.(no body likes redoing work a second time)

35% for the front two is fine. My F150 has 20% and I don't get bothered. I've cops pull up and ask me what size of lift, tires, exhaust etc my truck has. In point if the person drives recklessly or asking for trouble then they'll get a ticket for it.

For now you can pass inspection with it too which makes it easier ha.

In terms of tinting, make sure they use window felt so it doesn't scratch and window shaving to give it that factory look. I'll post a picture of my windows so you can see what I mean.

You probably can but I just figured I'd post the legal limits...
