Upper and lower control arms make a world of difference and if you find a good deal you can score both for around $200.
Delete plates just for the record are this. Between the engine block and the intake manifold are you charge motion valve plates. They have a butterfly valve in them that restricts airflow, delete plates are a set of charge motion plates that lack the butterfly valve and will give you gains up high but sacrifice low end torque, hence why gt/cs said don't do it unless you have gears which will be able to compensate for the loss of low end grunt.
As for the FRPP or C&L intake manifold, they are expensive, $500+ last time i checked. Money/HP ratio they don't give you a very good payout for the money you spend, you'd be better off getting gears or something else. However on a F/I car your gains are increased due to the extra air you are pushing with that power adder so it makes getting an intake manifold more worth it, however still you can drop a pull size and be pushing your engine to its max without needing the intake manifold.
