Default A Little Disappointed...

*** PHOTOS ADDED, CLICK HERE ***

I purchased new wheels/tires from American Muscle last week. I went to put them on but ran into a few issues:

- First, I can't use the OEM lug nuts as I expected to. My lug nut wrenches are too big to fit in the opening on the wheels with the OEM lugs. I can't tighten them.

- Second, I can't swap the center caps from the old wheels to the new ones. The hole is deeper on the new wheels and the caps won't clip in.

- Finally, and worst of all, the two rear wheels have paint defects. I found a small hair or a large piece of dust under the paint of each of the 2 rear wheels. One is 1/4" long, the other is almost 1/2". It's not noticeable from a distance but you can see them up close. My worry is they will somehow cause the paint to peel in the future. One of the spokes also has a poorly ground weld that you can see thru the paint. Definitely not the quality I expected.

My biggest disappointment is the fact that I was hoping to have these wheels on for the Butler show next Sunday. I don't see that happening now if I'm going to exchange the defective wheels. I'm going to call A.M. tomorrow to see what my options are...

Hey Rob, I'm sorry to hear that!! It definitly sucks when your excited about something (esp. before a show) and then something goes wrong!! I'm sure AM will take care of it and hey with their quick 1 day shipping, you never know, maybe you can get another set if all goes well before the show!!

Yeah, AM is really the best company when it comes to things like this. It shouldn't be a problem because they should send you new replacements and then have you return the old ones. I had a problem with them once and they did everything possible to make me happy.

Thanks for the replies guys. I've heard they are good and I'm hoping that's the case. That would be cool if they could cross ship. With mounting the tires, it would be close. The wheels I got are on clearance so I'm hoping they have better ones to exchange. I guess we'll see...

oh man that sucks, I know they'll take care of it for you and probably have them out to you before the end of the week. Let me know how it goes.

They are pretty good with wheels. Some member on another forum was having a ton of issues with the wheels from AM. But they took care of him really well. I think the one guy Chris Rose took care of the other member. If they give you a hard time just ask for him, but I doubt they will. He's probably sure to help. Goodluck.
