I usually pressure wash the engine, use a degrease if necessary. Then I use back to Black, Chrome polish(if needed), clay bar some of my painted areas and use WD 40

You wanna use the following:

Gunk Engine Brite
Various Brushes/rags
Water out of a hose

Follow with:

More Engine Brite

-or-

Mother Back to Black(plastics only)

-or-

Tire shine (cheap kind will work)

-or-

Vlad(97NYStanGT) has been having lots of luck with Turtle Wax Ice on his engine and components under the hood... Go figure...

Degreaser definitely does it and there's a engine shine one like for the leather interior but it shines all the plastic stuff in the engine bay...its a spray, they use it at my job here and have seen show cars use it

Serg, you beat me to it in details lol

Simple Green around the motor. Back to Black on the black plastic parts and hoses. Blue Magic for the metal and chrome.

No offense guys, but...
Throw Mcguires, back to black and anything else in the trash. Adams premium car care products rule! Proof is in the pics.

Before: My wifes 8 year old van ( 1:Clean with Adams All Purpose Cleaner; 2: spray 50/50 Adams VRT and H2O with spray bottle. Use compressed air and old rag and forget about qtips!)

AFTER !

Before: My 2004 Rubicon. And yes I go off road.

Beer always helps the time go by. Brush was for the wheels and tires

After ( 1:Clean with Adams All Purpose Cleaner; 2: spray 50/50 Adams VRT and H2O with spray bottle. Use compressed air and old rag and forget about qtips!)

Don't forget Adam's new Super VRT which repels water like wax on your car!

I need to pick some up along with more APC and Detail Spray lol.
