Default Do you wax a racing stripe????

Does anyone wax their racing stripe? Is it supposed to be dull or shiny? This is the first mustang i've ever owned with a black racing stripe and just not sure how to clean it....any advice would be super appreciated????

I would stay away from waxing them, some stripes make them fade or spot them.

The stripes on my Shelby are gloss, they get waxed with the rest of the car, but I use wax that is safe for " all " surfaces. Flat stripes are a different issue, you might want to contact Ford, or several of the major product companies for their recommendations.

Wow- thanks everyone for your input - i've been hearing different things but i'm taking from the majority of you that I should NOT wax it - it does have a mat finish so i'm assuming thats what its supposed to be - i did put a call into Adam's but they are closed for the holiday - will try again Monday. Will also contact Ford and let you all know if I find out any new info.

Until then i'm sticking with water and good old fashioned elbow grease

I use Qwik Wax by Meguiers or Meguiers NXT 2.0 because its very milky and doesn't have that buildup
