Unhappy Swirl Marks on a black Stang...

This is my second Mustang, they have both been black.

The swirl marks on the car are ridiculous, I only wash my cars in hand car washes, no machines.

What can i do to permanently remove all of the swirl marks myself??

Please help.

Yeah it sucks... option 1 is to not get a black car haha. (I'm shooting for white on my next mustang) I've been using ScratchX wax and it does pretty well, but otherwise it's real tough. We have a dual orbital buffer at work that does pretty well, but who wants to buff their car once a month.

You also have to really step up your hand washing, I'm not an expert (I gave up at detailing)... But the tips I have:

Use a second "dirty" mitt/sponge for lower, dirty parts of the car so they don't pick up dirt and scratch the easilly visible parts of the car.
Always clean your mitt/sponge as your doing it and NEVER let it touch the ground.
same goes for the drying towel, if it ever touches the ground, wash it or toss it.
I also empty the bucket once or twice a wash, especially if the car is very dirty.
I never use quick detailer or anything, I get crazy scratches when i use it.

But there's a few detail guys on the board that will chime in with more/better tips for sure

But a Porter Cable and learn how to use it. You won't need to do it every month.

Use a 2 bucket wash method, and just be aware of what causes scratches and swirls.

Prevention is better than the cure.

i don't have a black car but i have always used two buckets when washing. one for suds and one to clean the mitts before going back in to the one with suds. two mitts one for the top half and one for the lower part of the car. on the mustang is use the lowermitt for the front and rear fascia and below the character line on the doors.

Ok so:

Step 1: Wash Car with Spot Free Car wash (Recommend any good ones), Dry

Step 2: Apply Glaze with cotton cloth (Can a microfiber cloth do the trick as well)

Step 3: Wait 2 Minutes or so, Then wipe off? Then Buff?? or Buff then wipe off?

Thanks alot, this looks like it will work, I have just purchased 5990 3M Imperial Hand Glaze from eBay. Thanks alot for your help.
