Everyone probably saw my thread about my 04 F150 having some trans problems and being hauled on a flat bed all the way to Downs Ford from North Bergen, courtesy of AAA for free! Thanks AAA! ( Blurry picture below lol)
After taking a detour from the parkway to route 9 and then back onto the parkway we go to Downs Ford….I crawled the truck to a parking spot after getting it off the bed. Drop off the truck and was told I had extended warranty up to 75k!!! That cheered up my day. Only other problem was I needed something with 4wd so I referred to Enterprise in Toms River. They called them and a few minutes later a man showed up in a 2009 F150 Crew Cab and I was like: “Can I take this home?”
Got inside the rental place and the guy knew about Ford Warranty paying part of the rental (thankfully that helped) so I tell him I want something with 4wd and he said he’d give me that 09 F150 for the price of a compact car! I couldn’t say no! I drove off in that F150 and had it for just about 9 days.
09 F150 Review: Believe it or not this 4.6L actually seem to have more power than my 5.4L. It also drove much smoother over potholes and train tracks then mine which didn’t make too much sense

When you turn it on the dash says: “
Built Ford Tough” which I found pretty cool. Over all it just had a smooth and comfortable feeling to it. I’m a big fan of the rear end on these but not so much with the front. I can’t wait to own the Raptor version one day though, because I can’t wait to see what it drives like!
Drove back down the following Wednesday, dropped it off and picked up MAC which drove very smoothly as well. Still rough over potholes but that’s another issue. The doors on a super cab just shake so much more than a crew cab too (only thing I’d change about my truck in terms of body stuff, but I can’t do much about that aside from tightening the bolts)
So for $397 bucks, I got a rebuilt transmission! (Including rental and deductible)
They also worked on my truck last year before the car show and did some suspension work to it, had the frozen calipers on the Mustang replaced by them as well, just recently had the spark plugs changed on the F150 as well, and Janice had her dual exhaust put on by them as well. Now you know why I say take it Downs….I’ve gone from dealership to dealership in the past with problems from bumping my car into stuff to not properly fixing stuff and I think I’ve finally found a pretty damn good one!
From what I know, Jimmy is your Mustang guy there and Chris is you F-Series guy.
