2007 Mustang GT Convertible MRT Light Bar installed with pictures!
Installed it all by myself
The back seat was VERY easy to take out, i can't believe it but like 2 minutes top and both the bottom and top section i had out of the car. The plastic trim panels i took my time with, careful not to break anything. I got them all out last night along with the light bar and stored them in a room since i lacked a drill so i had to call it quits for the night. But not before i installed my MRT hood struts
Then today i ran around to 3 stores till i finally found a T-50 torx bit that is needed to remove the rear seat belts. Then i took them out, bolted on the black support bars (in one of the pics) and drill the two extra holes and bolted it all down. The wires were SUPER EASY!!! i am terrible at wiring but CDC made a great kit that was very simple. I just slid the two metal tabs into the proper socket and connected the other end and boom, it worked . I dropped the light bar inbetween the brackets, reassembled everything and tightened it down.
The two-toned MRT light bar is wrapped in leather with charcoal black and vista blue colors. It was $550 and i ordered it on Dec 25th and got it Fed 2nd, but its simply amazing Once the weather clears up and i can get a nicer background i am going to get some photos posted up of my ride on MRT's official website
And pic #4 is just me washing my car in the hanger btw it was 25 degrees outside and i drove 20 miles topless
Looks great. I almost went for a light bar but they are not permitted on the track. Instead I went for a 4 point Autopower roll bar with a cross bar. I am currently looking for a way to cover it.

well basically all the light bar is this kinda of molding stuff that is shaped around the form then hardens into like a thick plastic and then is wrapped in leather. I think you can do something like that to your cage, or at least get it a paint job. A local guy with a Shelby GT and polished whipples has a 4pt cage that is painted blue with silver stripes like the car

I want a roll bar! Just makes you feel safer when you go for a spirited drive.

just remember its there. i whacked my head twice already forgetting the light bar was there when i reinstalled my rear seat. and its not solid metal, imagine how much that would hurt lol
Here is the picture of my bar. It is far enough behind my head so its a non issue for a bumping hazard. Any closer to my head the track officials require a special type of padding on it. The lower cross bar runs across the back seat. It is removal for days when I am putting the kids in the back seat.
I would like it covered. Maybe like Wranglers cover theirs. I am open to ideas.
