Thumbs up My car is finally fixed!!

So as some of you may or may not know, I got hit in the beginning of the semester (sometime towards the end of January) and have been waiting to get my car fixed. Estimates were too expensive, so my dad found OEM satin silver painted parts off of eBay. This weekend the parts were finally put on my car and I wanted to share the transformation with you all

This was the damage beforehand:

After all the body panels were removed ...

My dad putting on my new GT bumper (oem v6 one is harder to find than you think, so we upgraded it!):

And finally the finished product:

Now you might see a little rough spot in the fender by the headlight - my dad and uncle spent time rebending it back to normal because the 'new' replacement fender was tweaked and in worse condition then we originally thought. But all I need now is to get it filled a tiny bit and blend the paint, then my pony will be good as new I'm really enjoying the new look.

Best part: There were never any holes punched in the bumper for a front plate, only the little dimples. The front plate is zip tied to the new bumper, because I will be getting SC plates for my car soon. Then I wont need a front plate!

Thats the way I fixed my Focus after I wrecked it. Found white parts off craigslist and fixed it that way. Much cheaper than taking it to a body shop to have them fix it. Car looks good by the way. lol

Nice work. Why are you getting SC plates?

If driving around with the ziptied plate ever gets to be an issue, these work great for avoiding holes in the front bumper: http://www.ccmustangbrackets.com/brackets.html I've got one on my car, I figure it will be good if I ever show it.

My family plans on moving there in a few years, we're starting to build slowly. Not to mention the insurance is cheaper. I will most likely end up going to nursing school down there for the spring 2012 semester. So I'll probably get a SC license too soon.

It shouldn't be a big issue (I hope). Being on the ambulance squad, the cops in my town know me and would give me a heads up if it was a problem. Outside my town I can't really say but I've passed a few cops in and out of town and they don't seem to care as long as I have a plate there. But thanks for the info, I'll definitely keep it in mind if I get hassled!
